Bampton
Guides
1st Bampton Guide Unit is for
girls aged 10-14 who love fun and adventure.
We have many enthusiastic guides and volunteer leaders/helpers and are
officially registered at Girlguiding UK headquarters in London.
An exciting programme of activities in weekly meetings, days out and
special events helps girls benefit by:
· Making friends and having fun
· Being encouraged to fulfil their potential
· Taking part in challenging activities
· Being encouraged to work for the benefit of the wider community in which
we live.
The guides have a big input into choosing activities and our programme has
so far included activities such as; camp fire cooking, pioneering, fitness
and healthy eating badges, swimming, carol singing, making photo frames, map
reading trails, and a sponsored silence to raise money for the registered
charity "Children with Leukaemia".
Within the guide programme, camping is included and the 1st Bampton guides
have been to Girlguiding Berkshire's county campsite, and there are many
more camping activities to be planned for the future.
Being part of the Girlguiding community, either as a guide, or as a helper
has massive advantages. Skills such as lighting a fire with simple
resources, learning about places in the world, team work and leadership are
learnt naturally during guide activities and are life-long skills.
New members are always welcome. The only requirements are that you are a
girl between the ages of 10-14. We would also like to hear from you if you
are interested in being a weekly volunteer. You don't need any experience,
just some spare time and bags of enthusiasm.
