Bampton by Road

From the London area, you can either take the M4/A34, or the M40/A40 roads.

On the M4, turn-off at junction 13, and head towards Oxford. At the Abingdon turn-off, take the A415 towards Marcham and Kingston Bagpuize. At Kingston Bagpuize, take the A420 towards Swindon, and then the follow the sign for Bampton.

From the South-West, take the M5 North and join the M4 East. Follow the directions as above.

From the North, you can either take the M6/M42/M40 combination, or the M6/M5/A40 combination.

If you take the former, turn off the M40 at junction 9, turn-off on to the A34 towards Oxford. Then take the Oxford turn-off, and at the next roundabout, follow the A40 signposted Cheltenham and Witney. Take the second turn-off for Witney, and follow the A415 towards Kingston Bagpuize. After about a mile, take the right turn towards Aston and Bampton.

If you take the M6/M5 route, turn off the M5 at Junction 11a - the A417. Follow the A417, then the A436, and then the A40 towards Witney.

On the A40, a few miles after Burford, take the right hand turn towards Brize Norton, and then follow the signs for Bampton.
