BAMPTON YOUTH CENTRE The Youth Centre is a voluntary organisation founded in 1984 to provide facilities for youth activities in the village and to encourage the expansion of such services. The Centre is housed in the historic Victorian building of the old primary school in Church View which is leased from the County Council and was renovated, largely by public subscription. The main activity in the Centre is that of the Youth Club which, currently, meets on Tuesday evenings for younger members and on Thursday evenings for an older group. The organisation is partly funded by the County Council youth service but also benefits from regular donations from the village charity – the 250 Club – and from the Bampton Welfare Trust. An important additional source of income is from hiring the premises for parties, wedding receptions and other social activities and, in this respect, the Centre has the attractions of a pleasant large central hall and extensive car parking facilities.
